The GIDEONS
INTERNATIONAL is a ministry that the Redlands Parish supports. The sole purpose of the Gideons is to distribute God’s Word
worldwide so that every man, woman, boy and girl may come to know Jesus as
their Lord and Saviour. There are 196 countries throughout the world where the
Gideons are active in distributing the Word.
 Each year the Gideons of the Bayside Camp are invited to
come to our congregations to give a church presentation and ask us to give a
free will offering to cover the cost of bibles distributed . They seek our
members in becoming members of the Gideons. We are asked to pray for their
ministry and they in turn pray for our ministers and ministry. They have a Card
Ministry operating as well and we have a Card Display at two of our churches.
Our Pastor is invited to a Pastor’s Appreciation Event once a year as a thank
you for the churches support. Gideon bibles are placed at no cost in motels, schools
(grade 7 and 8 students), hospitals, nursing homes, professional reception areas,
fire brigades and police stations to
name a few. Last year some 84 million bibles were distributed by Gideons
